Pride in Penhill Update
The Pride in Penhill programme is a £20m pot of money to be spent over a 10 year period. The decisions about the funding will be made by the local community, through a board of local residents and led by Charlotte Beckhurst as Chair of the Board. We have so far had a number of board meetings and launched the working groups that will bring forward the ideas to the board about how the community would like the funding spent.
The working groups are focussed on:
Children, Young People & Families
Community Health, Wellbeing & Inclusion
Community Pride, Culture & Events
Environment, Public Spaces & Neighbourhood Improvements
Skills, Employment & OpportunityThe board are currently developing their first plan to government, setting the direction of the key areas the £20m will be spent on over the next ten years. I look forward to continuing to work with the Board as they develop their proposals for Penhill.
